Alita’s Cello Tuition
Alita began her private music teaching studio in 2005, and is always welcoming new cello students! Students can begin learning the cello from approximately 8 years of age. Alita’s Cello Tuition tutors students from the beginning levels to University levels. As an experienced school teacher, students can study the TEE reportoir here, and also prepare for AMEB exams.
Alita Monkhorst is a BMus Cellist who graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2007. She currently teaches for the School of Instrumental Music, teaching cello and also taking numerous orchestral groups. She began cello in 1996 with teacher Gabrielle Scherer, then pursued lessons from a number of well known teachers such as Emma Luxton, Julie Parish, Noeleen Wright, Jill Cooper and is currently studying with Michael Goldschlager. Through schooling years Alita was a recipient of the Mary Thomson Music Scholarship. In 2008 Alita is completing a Diploma of Education at Edith Cowan University. Alita is a current member of the Eu4ria String Quartet, and Trio con Brio and performs at many events throughout Perth and Albany.
